USF Finishes Seventh At WCC Championships

TACOMA, WASH. - San Francisco ended the 2008 men's golf season with a seventh place finish at the West Coast Conference Championship held at Chambers Bay. USF totaled 912 strokes through three rounds including 305 in the final round Tuesday. Chris Cunningham was a highlight for the Dons as he was awarded All-WCC honors after tying for a third place finish with San Diego`s Darrin Hall. Cunningham completed all three rounds in 73 strokes for a final tally of 219. Kurt Nino tied for 24th with a score of 229 (75-75-79) and Kenny Adams finished tied for 26th with 232 strokes (74-79-79). The final two Dons, EJ Kahn and Connor McElyea, were tied for 32nd and 38th. Kahn had a 235 (78-80-77), while McElyea had a 241 (84-81-76). San Diego won the team title with 888 strokes led by a first place finish by Jake Yount. San Diego had round scores of 286, 294 and 308. Yount had a final stroke tally of 218 (73-71-74).
