USF Places 10th At Colorado-Stevinson Ranch Invite

STEVINSON, CALIF. - San Francisco placed 10th with a three round stroke total of 910 at the Colorado-Stevinson Ranch Invitational held Monday and Tuesday. Finishing tied for 22nd, nine over par at 225 (75-77-73), Kenny Adams was the top USF competitor. Kurt Nino was tied for 30th with a total of 227 strokes, 11 over (73-80-74). Chris Cunningham was tied for 41st (72-80-78; 230), E. J. Kahn was tied for 58th (74-82-78; 234) and Ed Han was tied for 61st (80-76-79; 235). USF began the tournament jumping out to a second place with 294 strokes. Cunningham led the group of Dons shooting 72 by making four straight birdies from holes 14 to 17. San Francisco then played to 313 strokes in round two and 303 in round three. New Mexico State won the team title with 872 strokes (292-291-289) followed by Saint Mary's (CA) with 880 (295-286-299) and Colorado with 886 (303-286-297). Oklahoma City University's Anthony Michael took first place individually with round of 75, 71 and then 66 (212). San Francisco will compete in the West Coast Conference Championships next Monday and Tuesday.
