AT USF (2004): Made 11 appearances during his first year at USF all out of the bullpen... pitched a scoreless inning of relief in a win over Hawaii (2/28)... threw a scoreless inning against UC Davis while striking out two (4/20)... in his final outing of the year he struck out one in one inning against Pepperdine (5/22). AT DIABLO VALLEY COLLEGE: Played two seasons at Diablo Valley College... in 2003, started 15 games, compiling a 7-4 record and a 4.70 era in 87.2 innings pitched... in 2002, had a 7-4 record, pitching 72.1 innings. PREP CAREER: played three years at De La Salle High School... team had a 24-2 record during career... senior year had a record of 12-0, with a 1.46 era... named to the all-state team... named all-American honorable mention. PERSONAL: Reed Johnson... chose USF for the academics and the baseball program... best thing about being a student-athlete is meeting other athletes... goal for the season is to win the WCC championship... favorite thing about San Francisco is the Golden Gate Bridge... the best advice ever given is to slow down and focus... the best advice I could give to young people is to work hard at your goals, but have fun too... after graduation would like to go to medical school, with hopes of becoming an orthopedic surgeon... hobbies include playing golf and basketball, watching movies, and playing video games... parents are Leigh and Andrea Johnson... born on April 2, 1982.
